Drew is over to a state wrestling
tournament for little kids.
This is the team trophy that Panguitch
won last year for first place.
I don't know if they will do that
well today. Drew has taken second
and third this year in wrestling
tournament, so he may do well.
We aren't driving over as his
Grandpa has swollen legs today.
But wish him luck.
And applaud all those parents
spending all day long watching
one match after another...
I remember some going until
midnight...but they have more matches
and organize much better with more
catagories so more kids come home
with a medal hanging on their necks.
It's great! They are back home no later
than five. So I'm hoping
Drew wins another medal
and wish his dad could win one
for hanging in there.
I see you got your last photo in the text. Good! I think I will put my header of night in mine and leave out the photo of LaRae. But anyway, this trophy is almost bigger than he is. When I first saw it I thought, my word, did Drew win this??

ReplyDeleteHe looks so cute holding a trophy bigger than he is. Yes the Dad deserves a medal.Parenting is no easy job. Especially hard when you have to drive a long way for a sporting event. Where are the tournaments held?
ReplyDeleteThe tournament was a fiasco! They didn't get started until 11 (start time was supposedly 9:00) and Drew wrestled and won. Then they said the catagories were wrong and redid them and started over. Drew had to fight the same kid as he did at first. Jason protested saying he'd already won, but they said that didn't count. So he wrestled and lost...and several hours later was pinned, so he lost out entirely this time. Jason was very aggravated as you can imagine. Very poorly run tournament. They claim Panguitch has the best tournament by far - they should do state here.
ReplyDeleteAnyway Tom just called to talk to him and he still isn't home. It's 7 p.m. now. He did have to pick up some Ken & Ren stuff. So this is not the best tournament to talk about. Meadow spent the day with us.
Drew has been to Wayne County, Piute, Panguitch, and Milford this year. And this one in Cedar, Snow Canyon. So it is a chore to get them here and there. They usually have a catagory of four for the little kids and everyone gets a medal 1,2,3,or 4th. So everyone comes home with a medal and happy!
Even if they lost.They go pretty fast...In the days of my kids they wrestled into the night if they were winning and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were the medals. Large number of kids in each one. Didn't work as well.
