More Doves

Haiti is overcome by earthquake upheaval.
The doves are hovering, unable to touch base
trying to get relief to millions there.
Help our poor! Help our wounded!
Help rebuild our shaken country!
May the doves fly in with water and food.
Precious life-giving water.
Let no Hawks arise from the dust
to maim and kill and prey upon the
hurt and oh so poor.
Let the Hawks stay hidden.
Let the Hawks not strike.
The doves can come when they
can come.
Haiti, the suffering is profound.
Death is on every corner.
Let the Doves soft wings
soft coo come.
To relieve the suffering poor.

  1. We all need to pause to think of the suffering in Haiti beyond what we can imagine unless we have endured nature's upheavals of this magnitude. College students are missing there who went on relief missions and now will not return home again from their urges to care for the poor of Haiti who are now more than poor, many of them, including the Arizona college students, dead.

  2. It is so very sad to see what these poor people are having to endure. The college students were dedicated to doing something good for this poverty stricken country and paid with their lives. Where is the justice in that? We can only make our small contributions and pray that relief will get to these people as quickly as possible. They couldn't even tell if the 6.5 after shock did damage as everything was already so damaged. We have to be very grateful for where we are.

  3. I have thought a lot about our U.S. troops as they have entered Haiti and tried to provide relief and security that it is what our army and our navy should be doing. There is enough destruction that occurs without our being involved in it's creation but in it's solution, now that's a place we should be. It makes me so proud of them and our country to be on the front of helping with this incredible disaster and these poor people.
