Cows in Pasture

I like cows,
but not in my pasture
breaking in
wanting food.
I can't afford
a horse all winter
to keep cows out.
My legs won't run
them out.
Don't have cash to
build the fence each year.
Can't find a builder
of fences.
Don't like poop
on my doorstep.
My Scotch nature
is against free feed.
What to do???
Good Question!
I like cows.
I like cattlemen.
I like them
Somewhere else.

  1. These photos say it all, even shows the cows walking through the broken down fence into the free food. I have been hearing about these trespassing cows since I was a little girl, which sent cowboy fencers to the mountain to find the broken down places and fix, fix, fix. But I sold my part of the pasture so no longer get all agitated when I hear about cows in King's Pasture that don't belong in there! kThat is not quite so agitated although I still sympathize with Kings Pasture owners but it is not the same thing, I admit. 3. You know I probably enjoy your blogs best of all because they are written in poems. The pictures of Kings pasture ae lovely and take me back to olden days when I was younger. Most of my exploring was in the jeep, not on horse back. I adore horses but riding--not so much. Now truely the cows cannot be blamed for wanting to go where the grass is greener and more lush. I don't envy you trying to get fence builders to protect your domain. Those that might could do a good job really don't want to as the like their cows to get fat on your grass, Keep us informed on this wild west saga.
